It's true that style has no limits, but there are things we think most women should avoid wearing, grillz being one of them. And while Madonna has rocked some edgy fashions over the years, this one just looks out of place (and, frankly, makes her look like she's trying too hard to be current).
Made popular by gold-toothed hip-hop artists in the '80s (think Flavor Flav of Public Enemy) grillz may have their history rooted in the deep south of the U.S., a time when slavery was rampant and men and women were denied dental care. They're experiencing a bit of a sartorial "comeback" thanks to rappers like Lil Wayne and Chris Brown; Rihanna and Ke$ha have also tried the style on for size.
So what say you? Is Madonn's grill look good or bad? Should she stop trying so hard? Let us know on Twitter @StyleListCanada.
