Northern Reflections (or Getaway), Cotton Ginny and Roots. But there was also Beaver Canoe -- the line that was emblazoned with our national symbol, the beaver. Worn by city and country kids alike, the company's sweatshirts became a must-have fashion item when they first hit the scene in 1982.
The only problem? For years it's been near impossible to track down a legit Beaver Canoe shirt (save for vintage outlets or the odd collection released by its parent company Roots). But no longer! As of September 8, every Canadian will be able to get some of the brand's good old-fashioned Canuck gear at Target Canada.
The apparel collection, which was designed by Roots's Design Director Diane Bald, will include hoodies, sweatshirts, tees, sweatpants and long-sleeve tops -- prices range from $8 to $100. There will even be a co-collaborated home line made up of 65-odd pieces of rustic-inspired pillows, frames and candles.
"The Beaver Canoe home collection takes its inspiration from the Canadian North with a modern twist," says Bald. "We used natural materials and sleek silhouettes keeping quality and longevity at heart."
